Abstract

A set of regulations arising from the environmental law determines aquaculture. In this sense, both general and specific environmental rules can be applied to this economic activity, which has been developed in the search of a sustainable aquaculture. In this work I will analyse the national public policy, which establishes the guidelines in environmental matter, together with the general and specific environmental rules applicable to aquaculture. I will present its main management tools, such as the environmental Impact assessment System, emission norms and contents in the different normative degrees pertaining to this developing regulation and that is essentially in the search of a sustainable and responsible economic growth of this activity.
